What Is Jade Stone
Jade is a relatively noble ore formed in nature after hundreds of millions of years of evolution and movement of geological structures.
Jade is divided into nephrite and jadeite. The famous Hetian jade belongs to nephrite, while jadeite is known as the king of jade. Both nephrite and jadeite are hard stone ores. The difference lies in the hardness. The Mohs hardness of nephrite is 6~6.5, and the Mohs hardness of jadeite is 6.5~7.5.
Jade comes in a variety of colors, including red, green, yellow, black, purple, and white, among which green jade is the most popular. Green jade with high transparency is expensive.
Not all jade price is expensive, it depends on the quality of the jade stone, specifically the transparency and green color of the jade stone. If the color and transparency of the jade are poor, then such jade is worthless at all, perhaps only a few tens of dollars. If the transparency and green color of jade are very good, it is very expensive. The price of such jade can be as high as thousands of dollars to hundreds of thousands of dollars. If the green color of the jade is good or the transparency is good, then its price ranges from a few hundred dollars to several thousand dollars.
There are many factors that affect the price of jade, such as transparency, color, purity, texture, structure, whether there are cracks, whether there are impurities, and so on. The most important factor in determining the price of jade is transparency, followed by green.
